Ottawa Softball Post Game 9, SBW Comp vs Dynamos

Hope you all had your Suds Buds water bottles with you because that game was a scorcher! Not just the heat, but the bats of the Buds as well. Some of the team must have been listening to Jason Derulo on the way to the game because Seb, Lawrie and Justyn seemed to be ridin solo with the home runs on this specific day.

From my spot in the outfield, the pitching was on point as usual and the team didn’t look out of position at all. The girls were once again the glue that kept the team together by hitting perfectly and making the opposing team second guess where they should be playing. The opposition gave us a bit of a scare with a last inning surge that saw them score 8 or 9 in the final frame and much to our surprise, took a one run lead into the bottom half of the final inning. The Suds played so well that no one on the team could actually believe that they were actually trailing for the first time in the game!

This set up the final scene of the game. Two runners on, Hans Solo shot Seb up to the plate. He turns to look at the bench with a twinkle of confidence in his eyes. A look that made you feel like everything was going to be just fine. This time there would be no solo homerun. Seb hammered the second pitch he saw and gave the Buds a well-deserved win on a night where nothing was hotter than Seb’s bat.
