Ottawa’s Suds Buds & Windmills: Who Are We?
The Ottawa Suds Buds & Windmills (SBW) was established in 2010. At the time of its creation, the main goal was to provide co-ed opportunities to play safe recreational-level softball.
Now SBW has grown into a miniature league, playing softball while also adding Futsal, Volleyball and Ball Hockey to its roster. SBW also organizes annual softball tournaments, events and charity outreaches in the Ottawa region.
SBW continues to foster new friendships and provides new experiences to young Ottawa adults to play and grow as a team.
Over the years, SBW has grown and learned with the help of its sponsors:
Broadhead Brewery,
Northern Phenix,
Southbank Dodge,
Dinardo's Ski.Bike.Hike and
Katimavic Massage Therapy.
With the weather turning out beautiful, for which felt for the first time in the softball season (game #9). The Evil Empire was a bit less Evil with FTG out playing for his other team in Kanata...

Tonight the D team came focused and ready to play. After starting the season 3-0, we seemed to fall on hard times, dropping our last 3, and you could tell it was affecting moods. We were ready to slay some Deloitte Dragons.
Something was different tonight, there was a spark, and that spark was from longtime captain, part time short stop krystle...

For our eighth game of the season (or sixth, c’mon rain gods, wtf), we welcomed spares Melodie and Bells to the team to square off against Pitches Be Crazy, while Kenny and Cyndi were MIA and Claud had to represent from the bench. Unfortunately, the ugly weather from the day foreshadowed the results of the night.
Things started out pretty evenly, but as th...

As I showed up to our Friday game a few minutes late (as usual), there was only one thing running
through my mind: “I hope that old man with the glasses is umping our game tonight”. I had previously
spent the afternoon getting my face made up by a special effects makeup artist for our costume contest
this warm...

The Suds Buds and Windmills showed up to the game in style last night, sporting our Happy Ballidays costumes! Easter, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, St.Paddy’s Day, and Canada Day were well represented! Despite being the better dressed team, unfortunately the score wasn’t as inspiring, losing the game 18-8.
It was a little tough getting the bats going a...

In our second week in A Div, we had a bit of a late start to the game, but Marie-Eve and Seb both arrived just in time to bat.
Offensively, we had a pretty good game, with a 7-run second inning. Seb also had an in-the-park HR (thanks to a few errors by the other team) with some sweet base running, including beating a pickle play between second and third...

Bats out of hell vs SBW D
The game started on a high note. New Captain Claudine showed up with a shiney bat she got for her birthday.
Golly had a FANTASTIC game. Catching 2 very high outfield balls. He hit a home run that brought in some loaded bases. Not only did it get out of the field, it cleared the nets and landed on a blue civic...

Friday Open Div against Team Voldemort.
Double Header on Friday! Yet another win for SBW with its share of action. Sarah kept up with her tradition of getting to second base. The Aces of bases were intimidated during the first game stating, “that girl can really play.” Captain Eric hit an out of field home run. No surprise...
