In the first game of the day, 2 teams looking to bounce back from losses last week as SWB took on SD. Seconds into the game, SBW put them themselves in the drivers seat as Pat Charette brought the ball to the front of the net and fired upstairs for the games first goal. A few minutes later, SBW went up by 2 as Andrew Hiscock used the backhanded shot from the low slot to beat the goalie. SD applied much pressure and shots throughout the first period but netminder Andrew Riff stood tall to the task turning away shot after shot. However, with a scramble in front of the net and a rebound chance to Pascale Frechette put SD on the board just before the buzzer. SBW were up 2-1 but shots heavily favoured SD 28-9. The pace was frantic in the second with SD having most of the control once again. Peppering the SBW team with many shots. With under 9 minutes to go, SD finally able to get the equalizer as Vanessa Gaumond buried the goal. However, SBW held down the fort and kept the scoresheet blank the rest of the way as a shootout would be needed. With the gentlemen unable to get the job done, it was the women who made the difference. Sandrine Lavictoire buried her shot to lift SD to the 3-2 victory.
