Quyon Camp of Champions

A Bat for a Cause

Ottawa’s Suds, Buds & Windmills slo-pitch softball team proudly donated a bat to the
Quyon Camp of Champions, a charity tournament that has long held a special place in our hearts.
Taking place just outside the Ottawa region, this incredible event raised funds for a great cause and brought
the softball community together in a meaningful way.

Our Roots with the Quyon Tournament

Krystle, Sarah Z, and Captain Eric first supported the Special Olympics All-Stars during the
third annual Quyon Tournament back in 2013, playing alongside Carm & Johnny.
From that moment on, SBW was all in. Our team continued to participate for the next four years—rain, shine,
heatstroke, and yes, plenty of beers—we did it all!

Shoutout to Paul Blackmore and the All-Stars for doing an amazing job running the tournament
and helping make a real difference in the community.

More Than Just Players—We Host Too!

While we loved playing and volunteering at tournaments across the region, we also built something of our own.
Ottawa softball tournaments were just one piece of our bigger picture.

In 2017, we hosted our very first SBW tournament—fittingly called the
Virgin Tournament. It was a huge success and we were hooked. We followed up with
Sloppy Seconds and SloppIER Seconds in 2018, bringing even more fun and
success to the diamond.

In 2019, we planned to branch into men’s tournaments but decided co-ed was our jam.
That year we launched the Three Way Tournament.

What Makes Our Tournaments Special?

It’s the little things—like our fun, personalized game recaps and the connection we maintain with our
teams and fans—that set our SBW tournaments apart.

We always valued the teams that supported us from the start. We offered discounted rates
and held priority spots for returning teams as a thank-you for their loyalty.

Our goal? To host a tournament every year until 2039.
Read more about that in our Until2039 FAQ.

SBW: More Than a Team

Suds, Buds & Windmills has always been about more than just the game.
We pride ourselves on giving back and staying active in the community that supports us.
